Pricing - Autogas pricing is a complicated and detailed issue; given the high world demand for Safe, Environmentally friendly, an Economical fuel source there is little wonder. Autogas (The green fuel) is traded on world markets and is consequently based on world parity pricing or the Saudi Price Index. Autogas is subject to other factors that will directly impact on its price, some of these are mentioned below:

Price Differentials - Autogas enjoys significant price savings when comparing to the price of Unleaded and Leaded Petrol. The differential between Autogas and ULP is the determining factor to how quickly you pay off your conversion, NOT the cost of Autogas .

Varying Autogas Prices - The Autogas market in Australia is decentralised and as a consequence prices are susceptible to competitive market conditions, and prices will fluctuate due to many factors some of which have been identified above. It is inappropriate to base cost saving calculations on abnormal highs or lows.
Autogas in Australia is Excise Free - There has been plenty of discussion over the years on the issue of Fuel Excise on Autogas. The industry and all environmentally conscious motorists were pleased to see that a workable Fuel Excise policy was eventually agreed upon by the Federal Government in March 2003. The Excise on Autogas will remain at zero until the 30th of June 2011 , at which point an excise on Autogas will be phased in at an incremental 2.5 cpl per annum up to a limit of 12.5cpl by July 2015.
